Return to main land
After a few awesomely relaxing days on Texel, including a nice pan of mosselen, we are now packing up the tent and getting ready to go back to the mainland. Tonight we are meeting some friends in Wosterout, having diner with my mom, and sleeping at Jasper’s. We made an early start so if time allows for it, we might take a detour and catch a glimpse of the famous Dutch Delta works….

Tentcamping
Our plastic home has experienced two days of straight rain, being put up in the dark, being put up in the woods, Mathias as a guest sleeper in the outer tent, smoked eel, insects that like smoked eel, being in campings at the southern most part of Holland, five Scrubs episodes, the beach on Texel, an island at the northern tip of this country and now at the same location it has also experienced wireless internet.
Sinis list of things noticed about Holland:
- Good tasting coffee
- They always give you something with the coffee, like, miniature cookie, I like miniature and cookies.
- For the first time my MasterCard has been refused
- Everything involving a creditcard is called “pinnen”
- People don’t dress up to go out to bars, sometimes they come straight from playing a muddy soccer game.
- They like bikes
- There aren’t any gyms, at least not visible from the street
- Food stores at 50 years ahead of Sweden
Tekno
After a few days of camping on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, coffee with Jan, Jasper and Mika, and some shopping in Utrecht, we drove back to the south for an awesome party in Den Bosch at an old, abandoned shooting range
Thanks Bossche Bende for a cool tourist attraction, really how a freetekno party should be, and it was cool that we could park a tent on the site
